Aligning objectives to strategy means creating a clear connection between what someone does in their role and what the organisation is trying to achieve. It’s the process of breaking down big strategic goals into practical, meaningful performance objectives so that people understand: 

 

  • What I’m responsible for
  • Why it matters 
  • How it contributes to where we’re going 

Without that link, strategy sits on a shelf and day-to-day work becomes disconnected. With it, people know exactly how their effort contributes to real outcomes – whether they’re designing new products, helping customers, improving processes, or supporting internal systems.
